(MIDLAND, Mich.) Walsh (7-8) was denied a second consecutive fifth place finish at the GLIAC Championships after being defeated 5-3 by Ferris State University (11-5) at the Midland Community Tennis Center.
Ferris State led 2-1 after doubles play, as Daria Bondareva and Alisha Angle recorded Walsh's only doubles point.
In singles action, Alona Skobkina won 6-4, 6-2 at third singles and Angle won 6-4, 6-2 at fifth singles.
For Walsh, Angle, Bondareva and Sofya Logunova were named to the All-GLIAC Team. All three were also selected last year.
Angle was named honorable mention for the second straight time. She was 14-5 overall in singles play, mostly at numbers five and six. She was 8-4 in GLIAC competition.
Bondareva was picked second team for the second straight year. She was 11-6, mostly at second singles and 9-3 in GLIAC play.
Logunova repeated as a first team All-GLIAC selection. She was 10-7 at first singles and 6-5 in conference play.
