No. 16 Tiffin Handles Cavs

Box Score

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh struggled offensively and had difficulties containing a potent opposing offense as it was dealt a 5-1 loss to No. 16 Tiffin on a rain-soaked Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers (3-5, 1-5) have now fallen in its last five contests. The Dragons improve to 6-1-1 overall and 5-1 in the GLIAC.

Tiffin opened the scoring in the 24th minute of the first half when Andre Landell scored his league-best ninth goal of the season on a Michael McPeek assist. Oliver Verdult gave Tiffin a 2-0 lead in the 37th minute. Landell added his 10th goal of the year early in the second half before another pair of goals gave the Dragons a 5-0 cushion.

The Cavaliers' lone goal came late in the game in the 87th minute when Tiffin was called for a foul in the box. Brandon Frederick took the penalty kick and went to the right side and rolled it by the keeper to put Walsh on the board to avoid the shutout.

Walsh will attempt to regroup as it is back in action on Sunday when the Cavs host Findlay at 1 p.m.
