Kahlig Scores 55 as Findlay Routs Cavs in GLIAC Semifinal

(FINDLAY, Ohio) - GLIAC Player of the Year Greg Kahlig scored a career-high 55 points, as the University of Findlay (23-5) routed Walsh (22-6) 104-74 in the conference semifinals. Findlay will meet the winner of the Michigan Tech/Malone game in the championship game at 2 pm on Sunday.

Findlay came out blazing, and led 13-7 when they put together a 16-0 run to led 29-7. They would further the lead to 34-9, and led 62-37 at the half, as Kahlig scored 36 first half points. The Oilers shot 64% (23-36) from the floor and 10-15 from three-point.

The second half was much like the first, Kahlig continued to score, and Findlay continued their torrid shooting. He would finish 19-28 from the field and 10-17 from three-point, while also going 7-7 from the line. The Oilers shot 59% (38-65) for the game, and 56% (14-25) from three-point.

Walsh was led by Jeff Copeland (6-5, So., Toledo, OH/St. John's Jesuit) and Hrvoje Vucic (7-1, Sr., Split, Croatia/Faust Vrancic/Valparaiso), who each scored 14 points. Jesse Hardin (6-1, So., Warren, OH/Harding) added 11 points.

Walsh must wait to see if they receive an at-large bid to the 64-team NCAA ll Tournament. The NCAA D ll selection show will be broadcast live at 10:30 Sunday night.
