Cavs Pierced By Rowan, Arrows

Box Score

(PEPPER PIKE, Ohio) – Walsh fell to host Ursuline by a count of 2-1 in a non-conference affair this afternoon. The Cavaliers are now even across the board at 1-1-1 while the Arrows improve to 3-1.

The Arrows took an early 1-0 lead on a header by Paige Rowan at 14:37. The goal was set up on a cross by Vanessa Consiglio. Maddy Strausbaugh provided the equalizer on an assist by Emily Durina at 23:48.

Ursuline was quick to jump back up as Rowan scored her second and the go-ahead just three minutes later on an assist from Emily Justus.

Despite three goals being scored, it was relatively a defensive game as both teams combined for 19 shots with each squad tallying three in the second half. Once again, Walsh held an advantage on corner kicks by a 7-2 count, but couldn't make any of them count.

Michaella Stucky and Dani Shambaugh split time in goal with Stucky getting the start. Each made one save.

The Cavs will look to rebound in another non-conference affair as they welcome another former conference rival in Daemen. The Wildcats will make the trip to North Canton on Sunday for the front end of a men's and women's doubleheader with a 1 p.m. start.
