Box Score (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) On the strength of 53-point second half Hillsdale College (6-3, 4-1) handed Walsh (5-4, 1-4) its fourth straight loss, 84-74, in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game. Walsh looks to snap the skid on Sunday when they host Saginaw Valley State at 3 pm. Walsh has never lost four games in a row under Head Coach Jeff Young. Hillsdale jumped to a 14-4 lead in the first six minutes before the Cavs rallied to take a 20-19 lead with 6:06 to play in the half. Rian Burrell (6-3, Jr., Zanesville, OH/HS) and Davonte Beard (6-3, Sr., Akron, OH/St. Vincent-St. Mary) combined for 16 first half points as Walsh led 32-31 at the half.
The second half was all Hillsdale, as they outscored Walsh 53-42. Walsh held its last lead at 40-38 with 16:23 to play. The game was tied at 43-all when the Chargers went on a 12-0 run to take a 55-43 lead with 11:45 to play.
Walsh was able to cut the lead to six points (77-71) with 2:23 to left but would get no closer.
The Chargers shot 68% (15-22) from the floor in the second half, and went to the line 25 more times than the Cavs. Hillsdale did a great job on the boards outrebounding Walsh 36-24.
Jesse Hardin Jr. (Jr., 6-2, Warren, OH/Harding) led Walsh with 16 points and had six rebounds. Trey Fletcher (6-6, So., Zanesville, OH/HS) added 14 points and six rebounds and Burrell tallied 11 points.
Hillsdale's Kyle Cooper led all scorers with 20 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds
