Box Score (PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – On the plus side today, Michaella Stucky and the Walsh defense pitched its fourth shutout of the season against Lake Erie College this afternoon. The negative side is that the Storm recorded its first as the two teams fought to a 0-0 draw.
It's the third draw of the season for the Cavaliers (5-4-3, 3-3-1) and first for Lake Erie (2-9-1, 1-6-1).
Both teams were pretty equal in almost all parts of the game. Walsh out-shot Lake Erie 16-15 overall and 6-5 in overtime. In a similar role, the Storm had more shots on goal at 7-6. Lake Erie did have a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks, but was unable to get anything to connect.
The Cavs had a pair of opportunities to end the game in the first overtime, but shots by Sarah Berger and Sydney Santaguida were saved by Storm keeper Marissa Brannon.
Stucky followed suit when Lake Erie attempted to score in the second overtime with saves after shots from Elizabeth Awuagh and Elizabeth Roesch.
The Cavaliers now return home for a trio of games starting with two next weekend. First up is Ashland on Friday. Kick-off with the Eagles is set for 5 p.m.
