Box Score (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Three second half goals doomed Walsh as Findlay was able to take a one-goal game and expand it into a 5-1 victory over the Cavaliers at Milazzo Field Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers drop to 3-11 on the year and 1-10 in the conference. The Oilers remain in contention for the GLIAC Tournament at 8-4-1 overall and 7-3-1 in the conference.
Jordan Gozelski put the visitors up initially on a score on the assist from Michael Shaikly in the 23rd minute. Walsh answered quickly as Ryan Baker perfectly placed a free kick to the upper left 90 that hit the inside corner and bounced in. That tied the game at 1-1 in the 25th minute. Baker's goal was his third of the season.
Findlay wasn't done, however, as Mark Sleasman was able to get a flick in a crowded area in front of Walsh's goal the give the Oilers a 2-1 lead just before the half.
The second half belonged to Findlay as Gozelski scored his second of the game en route to the win.
Walsh was outshot by Findlay 22-10 in the game. Findlay also held the corner kick advantage at 9-5.
The Cavaliers are on the road for the next game as they travel to Columbus for their last long road trip of the season on Friday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
Walsh will close the season at home against Lake Erie a week from today at 1 p.m. before traveling to Canton to take on Malone on Halloween Eve.
