Box Score (COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Walsh and Ohio Dominican played scoreless through nearly 70 minutes, but a late Panthers rally gave them their first win of the season with a 3-0 decision Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers fall to 3-12 overall and 1-11 in the conference. ODU improves to 1-11-2 overall and 1-10-1 in the GLIAC.
The Panthers offense sparked in the 70th minute when Ryan Kasprzak scored on a penalty kick to the top left corner. Four minutes later, Shane Facemyer put in a rebound from Tyler Thomas for a 2-0 lead. Jorge Aldalla put in the final score in the last minute.
Walsh was on the defensive most of the game as it was out-shot 27-11. Tom Jackson made nine saves in goal.
Brett Sparks and Michael Saddler gave the Cavs their best chance to score as they evenly split four shots on goal, but neither were able to find the back of the net.
The Cavs will return to Milazzo Field for their final home game of the season on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
