Box Score (CANTON, Ohio) – Not many teams can say they won their final game of the season, but that's what Walsh will do as it took a 1-0 decision against its rival Malone. The Cavaliers (4-12, 2-12) avenged a loss earlier in the season to the Pioneers (3-12-1, 3-10-1) in doing so.
The game was fairly even throughout the full 90 minutes. The only score came early as Brett Sparks took a pass from Bailey Moody and snuck past the defender to score in the lower left corner. It gave Walsh a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute of the game and the Cavs were able to make it hold up the rest of the way.
The Cavs did have some solid opportunities throughout the game, but only four shots were on target out of the 12 they took in the game. Malone outshot the Cavs 13-12 overall, but only two of its shots were on goal as Tom Jackson came up with the save both times.
