(ASHLAND, Ohio) – Walsh came out on fire with a first set win, but couldn't keep the momentum going as it fell in four sets to hosting Ashland. The Cavaliers (8-16, 1-11) won took the first set 25-17, but the Eagles (17-6, 10-2) answered with a 25-17 win in game two, a 25-11 win in the third, and closed the match with a 25-16 win in the fourth set.

The Cavaliers took the advantage in the opening game with an 8-0 run that gave them a 19-10 advantage and forced the Eagles to call timeout. Erica Schiets served for the majority of those points which included a pair of aces, but most of the points also came off of errors on Ashland's attack.

In the second set, Ashland stretched out an 11-9 lead into 22-11 advantage as the Eagles started to land some of their attacks. The Cavs cut the deficit to 22-15 after a kill by Gina Kramer, but it was too much to overcome as Ashland tied the match one set each.

The Eagles controlled the third set from the start with the first six points en route to the dominating win. That carried into the fourth where Ashland went up 8-2 to start. The Cavs got back into the set and cut the deficit to three after a kill by Liza Pflugradt, but Ashland rallied to score 10 of the next 12 points.

The Cavs attack struggled as it was in the red for the match. Kramer led the team with seven kills. Kaitlin Bronikowski pulled up 17 digs. On the opposite end, they had their hands full with Ashland's Alli Cudworth who put down 16 kills.

Walsh is back on the road again tomorrow as it heads to Painesville to take on Lake Erie. The Cavs will look to bring home the win with a start time of 5 p.m.
