(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – In the penultimate match of the season, Walsh dropped a 3-0 contest to hosting Ohio Dominican at Alumni Hall on Friday evening. The Cavaliers (10-19, 3-14) didn't go down easy as they forced the Panthers (16-13, 9-8) into extra points to win the first set 29-27. ODU followed with a narrow 25-23 win in the second before a 25-15 win to close out the match.

Walsh came from being down 22-17 to tie the opening game 24-24 after three-straight attacking errors by the Panthers. The lead remained elusive to the Cavs as ODU never trailed the entire set that saw it score the first eight points. Walsh tied ODU at 27-27 after a Paolo Ferrario kill, but the Panthers scored the next two points to take a 1-0 lead.

The second set saw Walsh up 21-16 after a Liza Pflugradt kill, but the Maroon and Gold couldn't seal the deal as Ohio Dominican responded with a 9-2 run to close out the set.

Ferrario led the team with 11 kills on 33 total attempts for a strong .303 kill percentage. Devin Hummel, Kelsey Snider, and Pflugradt all added seven on the day. Kaitlin Bronikowski picked up 22 digs and is over 1,000 for her career. She's eight shy of 500 for the season.

Walsh will wrap up the season on the road at Tiffin on Saturday. First serve with the Dragons is set for 2 p.m.
