(TIFFIN, Ohio) – Walsh dropped another hard-fought contest to hosting Tiffin by a score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to end the season. The Cavaliers (10-20, 3-15) forced the Dragons (11-18, 6-12) to extra points in a 27-25 before Walsh turned around to take the second set 25-23. The Dragons scored 25-12 and 25-17 wins in the third and fourth to take the match.

The opening game was back-and-forth the entire way as neither team had a run of more than three points. Unfortunately for Walsh, the Dragons had the final run to take the set. Paolo Ferrario gave Walsh a 25-24 lead and in turn served for the potential game point, but two kills and an ace gave Tiffin a 1-0 lead.

The second set was similar in that neither team had a large run until late in the game. Still, Tiffin eventually took a 20-12 lead, but the Cavaliers chipped away with nine of the next 11 points to make it 22-21 in favor of the Dragons. After a Victoria Turnbough kill, Walsh closed the set with four-straight points on kills by Devin Hummel, Erica Shiets, and Ferrario with an attack error by the Dragons.

Unfortunately the Cavaliers couldn't keep the momentum and fell in the next two sets. Walsh ends the season with seven more wins and three fewer losses than a year ago.

Hummel paced the Cavs' offense with 13 kills on the day. Liza Pflugradt added 11 as the only other Cavalier with double figures. Schiets and Haley Howell evenly split 38 assists. Kaitlin Bronikowski tallied 30 digs and went over 500 for the season. She ends the season fourth in the GLIAC with 522 digs.
