(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh dropped a close contest to Ohio Dominican by the score of 67-65 in GLIAC action in Alumni Arena Thursday evening. The Cavaliers drop to 10-6 overall and 7-4 in the GLIAC, while the Panthers are now 13-4 and 8-3 in the same categories.
The two teams were tied in the GLIAC standings heading into today's contest.
Four Cavaliers scored in double figures led by Alex Hochstedler who tallied 16 points. Kesley Funderburgh returned to action to score 13 points, and Holly Grober and Brooklyn Wooten each added 12 points.
Ohio Dominican ended the game on an 11-3 run over the last five minutes to take the win. The Cavaliers did have a last chance effort to get the win, but a long 3-point attempt by Hochstedler hit off the front end of the rim and out to end the game.
The Panthers were led by Lauren Bates who tied Hochstedler for game-high honors with 16 points.
Walsh returns to action as it heads to Tiffin on Saturday. Tip-off with the Dragons is set for 1 p.m.
