Box Score (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Simon Miller's header in the 66th minute gave Walsh a 2-1 win over visiting Ohio Dominican in midweek conference game at Milazzo Field Wednesday evening. The Cavaliers (5-7-1, 3-7-1) earned a big win and split the season the Panthers (4-8, 4-6).
The Maroon and Gold opened the scoring in the first half as Tim Kohman found the back of the net thanks to an assist from Bailey Moody in the 21st minute. A turnover on the Panthers' end of the field allowed the duo to have a 2-on-1 opportunity and made it count as Kohman scored his first of the season.
Walsh carried the 1-0 lead through half time, but ODU was able to equalize in the 59th minute when Ryan Kasprzak scored on a give-and-go from Brent Wahle.
The game wasn't tied too long as Miller's heroics came just seven minutes later on an assist from Myles Cornwall. Cornwall was situated outside the right end of the box and crossed the ball over to the left side of the goal where Miller was waiting and headed it in for his first score of the season.
Tom Jackson recorded the win in goal, his second of the season. He stopped seven shots on goal and faced 16 on the night.
Overall ODU outshot the Cavaliers 16-9.
The Cavaliers return to action Sunday when they play host to Northern Michigan. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
