(ALLENDALE, Mich.) – The Walsh women's tennis team fell to Grand Valley State on the road by a score of 6-3 in GLIAC action on Saturday. The Cavaliers are now 3-8 overall and 1-8 in the conference while the Lakers improve to 7-2 both overall and in the GLIAC.
Sofya Logunova and Mercedes FWoernandez provided the only doubles point at the top pairing as they defeated Aimee Mocia and Alexa Sweeney.
Logunova went undefeated on the day once again as she scored a 6-4, 6-2 victor over the Lakers' Madison Ballard in first singles. Daria Bondareva provided the other points in third singles. She dropped the first set to Abby Perkins 6-4, but followed up with a 6-2 win in the second and won the tiebreaker 10-4.
The Cavs return to action tomorrow for their final road match of the fall season against Ferris State.
