(BIG RAPIDS, Mich.) – The Walsh women's tennis team dropped its final conference road match 8-1 to Ferris State at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center on Sunday. The Cavaliers drop to 3-9 overall and 1-9 in the conference. The Bulldogs improved to 7-3 overall and in the GLIAC.

The lone point for the Maroon and Gold came from Daria Bondareva in singles play. Facing off against Nicole Meylor at threes, Bondareva came from behind to defeat Meylor 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Walsh had opportunities to take a few more points from the Bulldogs. Sofya Logunova and Mercedes Fernandez fell in first doubles by a score of 9-7. Both went three sets in singles play with both winning the second, but Fernandez dropped the third 6-3 in second singles while Logunova dropped the third 11-6.

The Cavaliers will close out the fall season this Saturday against Ashland. The match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
