Box Score (MIDLAND, Mich.) – Two goals separated by just over a minute midway through the second half spoiled a Walsh upset bid as it fell to Northwood 2-1 at Dean Field on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers (5-9-1, 3-9-1) held a 1-0 lead until the 75th minute when the Timberwolves (9-2-3, 8-2-3) scored back-to-back goals for the win.
The Maroon and Gold initially got on the scoreboard late in the first half when Jordan Prescod scored off of a rebound in the 40th minute.
It gave the Cavs a 1-0 lead through halftime before Northwood's Zachary Bakos equalized in the 75th minute unassisted and followed up 78 seconds later on an assist from Ben Campbell.
Walsh's offense was limited in the second half as it managed four shots compared to 14 for the Timberwolves. Both teams had four shots each in the opening frame.
Tom Jackson did his best to keep the Cavaliers in the game as he made 10 saves to tie a career-best mark. He originally set the mark in the second game last season at Seton Hill.
Walsh will return to action with its penultimate road game of the season at Saginaw Valley on Sunday. Kickoff with the Cardinals is set for 2:30 p.m.
