Box Score (FINDLAY, Ohio) – An early goal ended the Walsh women's soccer team's shutout streak held up to hand the Cavaliers a 1-0 defeat to Findlay on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers fall to 8-5-3 overall and 3-4-2 in the conference. The Oilers improve to 4-10-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the GLIAC.
Walsh now sits in tie with Northern Michigan for seventh place in the conference with two games to go. The Cavs will play at Ohio Dominican on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. before closing the season against Lake Erie at home a week from today.
The lone goal came from Sierra Peacock as she connected with a loose ball in the box and headed it in at the 12:34 mark. From there Dani Shambaugh held the Oilers in check and totaled three saves on nine shots faced on the day.
The Maroon and Gold attack outshot Findlay 13-9, but couldn't find the equalizer as Findlay's Bre Parrish made six saves.
Olivia Peters led the attack with five shots, three of which were on target.
