(UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.)- Walsh lost by three points during the first two sets (25-22, 25-22), but bounced back to win match three by the final score of 25-23. However, Saginaw Valley State took set four to collect their 13th victory on the season.

The Cavaliers are now 7-13 on the season overall and 1-8 in the GLIAC. The Cardinals improved to 13-8 overall and 6-4 in the conference.

The Cavs and Cardinals tied a total of eight times during the first match, but a Walsh error and a kill by Saginaw Valley State's Andrea Brigham would seal the first set 25-22.

Saginaw Valley lead throughout in the second, but had to stave off a comeback where Walsh came within two at 22-20 after a handling error on the Cardinals.

Walsh finally got on the board with a third set win after Paola Ferrario killed an attack to tie the set at 23-23. The Cavs eventually won after an attack error on the Cardinals.

In the fourth, Walsh was tied as late as 9-9after a kill by Lauren Loucks, but the Cavs weren't able to get the lead as SVSU went on to win 25-18.

Gina Kramer led the attack with a match-high 19 kills. Loucks added 15. Olivia Zanolli and Haley Howell split the setup duties and each had 22 assists. Defensively four Cavaliers reached double-digit digs with Kaitlin Bronkowski leading the team with 20.

Walsh returns home to set up shop for a three-match home stand that starts Tuesday with future conference rival Alderson-Braoddus. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
