(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Hosting future G-MAC rival Alderson Broaddus, Walsh swept the opposition 3-0 by scores of 25-23, 25-20, and 26-24. The win brings the Cavaliers (9-13) within one of last year's win total. The Battlers fall to 3-22 on the season.

All three games were tightly contested, none more than the third which required Walsh to get an extra point to finish off Alderson Broaddus. Down for the majority of the set, the Cavs finally tied the Battlers 21-21 after a kill by Paola Ferrario. However, Walsh wasn't able to gain the lead until another Ferrario kill made the score 24-23.

Alderson Broaddus answered with a kill of its own to equalize, but the Cavs were able to put the set and match away with kills by Gina Kramer and an ace by Ferrario.

There Cavaliers scored in double-figures with Ferrario leading the way with 15 kills. Kramer added 12 and Lauren Loucks spiked down 10. Olivia Zanolli set up the offense with 35 assists. Zanolli was also strong up front with four blocks.

Defensively Amanda Adoranti pulled up 11 digs. Emily Arnold was also strong on the front line with four blocks on the night.

Walsh returns to conference action this week as it hosts Ashland on Friday with a start time of 7 p.m.
