Box Score (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Bailey Moody made the most of senior night as he scored the only goal in a 1-0 shutout of Ashland on a chilly Wednesday night. Moody has now scored all three goals for the Cavaliers (6-10-1, 4-10-1) against the Eagles (4-11-1, 2-11-1) this season.
Moody's goal came midway through the first half as Walsh caught Ashland in a 2-on-1 advantage. Myles Cornwall dribbled down the left side of the field before crossing it to Moody in the middle of the box. Moody promptly put it in the back of the net to give the Maroon and Gold the lead at 26:45.
The senior was close to adding an insurance goal on a breakaway late in the second half, but his shot zoomed just right of the upper 90 with under four minutes to go.
Ashland wasn't without opportunities and was an awarded a penalty kick in the first half, but goalkeeper Tom Jackson made the save as he guessed correctly and dove right fully extended. He went on to have a stellar game with eight saves on 16 shots faced.
Overall Ashland outshot the Cavaliers 16-11.
Walsh will close out the season this Sunday at Lake Erie. Kickoff in Painesville is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
