Walsh Shutout By Findlay 2-0

(FINDLAY, Ohio) – The Walsh men's soccer team was shut out on the road as it fell to Findlay 2-0 on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers fell to 4-6-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the GLIAC. The Oilers split the season series and improved to 5-6 overall and 4-5 in the conference.

The Oilers first lit up the scoreboard with an unassisted score by Peyton Schroeder from inside the box in the 14th minute. The score remained there until the second half when Josh Dickinson added the second goal on an assist from Jacob Mattia with a chip over the keeper.

Shots for both teams were tied at 10-10, but Walsh held the majority of scoring opportunities and held a 10-1 advantage on corner kicks. The Cavs had a total of six shots on goal.

Tom Jackson played the full 90 in goal for Walsh and made four saves on the day.

The Maroon and Gold returns to the pitch on Sunday with its second meeting with Tiffin. Kickoff with the Dragons is scheduled for 3 p.m. on the road.
