Box Score (FINDLAY, Ohio) – A strong performance by Gina Kramer wasn't enough as Walsh fell to Findlay in straight sets at Croy Gymnasium on Friday evening. The Cavaliers (9-16, 2-11) battled close, but fell to the Oilers (19-7, 12-3) by scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 26-24.
Kramer tallied 13 kills on 25 attempts for a kill percentage of .400 on the night. Emily Arnold added eight kills on 14 attempts for a success rate of .357. Olivia Zanolli set up the attack with 32 assists.
Defensively Madison Music and Amanda Adoranti provided 10 digs each to lead the team. Justine Coffman was a force on the front line as she totaled two solo blocks and three block assists.
After the first set, Walsh remained neck-and-neck for the majority of the second set and trailed by just two at 19-17 after a kill by Lauren Loucks before Findlay started to separate itself to take a 2-0 lead.
In the third set, the Cavs jumped out to an early lead and led by three late at 21-18 after three consecutive kills by Kramer. Findlay battled to make it 21-20 before a kill by Zanolli put Walsh back up by two.
The Oilers were able to come back and take a 24-23 lead with four of the next five points, but Loucks tied it up for the final time with a kill. However, the Oilers secured the next two points to take the match 3-0.
Walsh will return to action tomorrow with a match at Wayne State. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
