(ERIE, Pa.) – The Walsh women's tennis team narrowly fell to Edinbor by a count of 5-4 at the Westwood Racquet Club on Saturday. The Cavaliers dropped to 4-11 on the year while the Fighting Scots improved to 4-1.
The top of the Cavaliers' card picked up all of the points on the day. Walsh evened the match at 1-1 after Sofya Logunova and Daria Bondareva finished off the No. 1 doubles contest 8-3. The Cavs were close at taking the advantage, but Asia Harris and Arina Kravitz fell at No. 3 doubles 9-8.
In singles action, Logunova and Bondareva won once again. Logunova won at the first spot as she defeated Julia Hellstern 7-5, 6-1. Bondareva made quick work of her opponent and former Cavalier Anastasiya Dasik 6-1, 6-0 in what was the first singles match completed. Asia Harris scored the final point for Walsh with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Marija Tmusic in No. 3 singles.
The Cavs return to action this Wednesday at Mercyhurst. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
