(DETROIT)  - Walsh scored an 85-72 revenge win against Wayne State on the road at the Matthaei Center in GLIAC action Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers improved to 13-12 overall and 11-10 in the conference. The Warriors dropped to 7-17 overall and 7-14 within the GLIAC.

Four of the Cavaliers starters scored in double figures with a pair eclipsing the 20 point mark. Jesse Hardin Jr. (Sr., Warren, Ohio/Harding) led the way with 23 points as he was 7-of-14 from the field. It's his 12th 20-point game of the season. Zac Carter (Jr., Ironton, Ohio/Ironton) added 22 for his sixth 20-point game.

Trey Fletcher (Jr., Ironton, Ohio/Ohio) nearly made it with 19 points and recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 10 rebounds. Steven Carpenter (So., Lancaster, Ohio/Fairfield Christian) scored a career-high 11 points and Chall Montgomery (Cleveland, Ohio/Central Catholic/Navy) added 10 rebounds in the win.

A 20-0 run helped Walsh take control of the game in the first eight minutes. It was capped by three-straight 3-pointers with two from Carter and another by Fletcher. Later in the half, a Fletcher layup gave Walsh its largest lead at 39-21.

Wayne State was led by Ronald Booth who scored a game-high 27 points. He was 8-of-14 from the field and 4-of-6 from three.

The Warriors rallied in the second half but could get no closer than five the rest of the way.

Walsh shot 50.9 percent, 29-of-57, for the game and out-rebounded the Warriors 40-34.

The Cavaliers now close out the regular season in the 52nd Annual Mayors Cup against Malone. Tip-off of is set for 7:30 p.m. from Malone's Osborne Hall.
