(MELBOURNE, Fla.) – The Walsh women's tennis team had little trouble in its first match of spring break with a 9-0 victory over Bloomsburg Monday morning. The Cavaliers improved to 6-12 on the year while the Huskies fell to 0-2.
Sofya Logunova and Daria Bondareva had the most impressive days as neither of them gave up a single game in doubles or singles action. The duo paired together for an 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. They were also the top two singles competitors and won by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Asia Harris and Arina Kravitz won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles before winning their singles matches. Harris was at No. 3 singles and won 6-3, 6-1. Kravitz made short work of her opponent at No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
Gabriela Laguna-Leon and Snezhana Kiseleva won 8-1 at the No. 3 doubles spot. Laguna-Leon followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles. Kiseleva gave up just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
The Cavaliers will continue their contests in Florida on spring break with a match tomorrow against Slippery Rock. It is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
