(CANTON, Ohio) – In their final home match of their collegiate careers, Asia Harris and Arina Kravitz had remarkable days as they helped Walsh to a 7-2 win over Davis & Elkins. The Cavaliers improved to 7-17 on the season with the win against the future conference rival Senators who are now 6-10.
Harris and Kravitz started the day paired together at No. 2 doubles and cruised to an 8-3 win over Halima Michael and Kelsie Roby. Sofya Logunova and Daria Bondareva gave Walsh a 2-1 lead after doubles play as they powered their way to an 8-2 win over Amanda Fewster and Haileigh Carper at No. 1 doubles.
All four went on to have perfect days as they won their singles matches as well. Harris had the most impressive match as she didn't yield a single game in either set in her 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 3 singles against Carper. Logunova was once again remarkable at the top spot with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Elise Simon.
Kravitz scored identical 6-3, 6-3 sets in her win against Fewster at No. 4 singles. Bondareva won a close first set 7-5 over Michael, but had an easier time in the second with a 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.
The final point for the Cavaliers came by way of Gabriela Laguna-Leon at No. 5 singles. She defeated Roby by scores of 6-3 and 7-5.
The Cavaliers have only two matches remaining on their schedule with the first coming a week from today at Oberlin. The match is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
