(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh suffered its first defeat of the season as visiting Roberts Wesleyan used a second half goal to guide it to a 1-0 win. The Cavaliers are now 2-1-1 on the year while the Redhawks found their first win of the year and are now 1-2-1.

It was close throughout and both teams fought to a scoreless first half as each team took six shots. The deciding shot came midway through the second in the 66th minute as Mackenzie Kidder found herself on the back end of a free kick and assist from Bella Mitrevski and Orla Martin.

Walsh had opportunities throughout the second half and outshot Roberts Wesleyan 10-5 in the final 45, but none were able to equalize. Of the 16 shots taken, seven were on goal.

The Cavaliers now go through a stretch of six-straight road games. They'll start that against another former conference rival in Point Park. Kickoff against the Pioneers is set for 6 p.m. in the Steel City.
