(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh competed with Wayne State, but fell by a score of 6-3 in GLIAC action at the Klekotka Tennis Complex on Sunday. The Cavaliers are 0-2 overall and in the conference while the Warriors improved to 2-0 in the same categories.
Sofya Logunova and Mercedes Fernandez won their singles contests at the one and two spots. Logunova made short work of her opponent at the top spot with a 6-0, 6-2 decision over Liv Peisachovitz. Fernandez defeated Liz Ghellere with withh a pair of 6-1 sets.
In doubles action, Daria Bondareva and Victoria Ambrosio won their second doubles match with a 8-6 decision over Ghellere and Astrid Ciellza.
Walsh will now hit the road to the Upper Peninsula to take on Lake Superior State on Saturday and Michigan Tech on Sunday.
