Box Score (BIG RAPIDS, Mich.) – Ferris State shutout Walsh in GLIAC volleyball action early Friday afternoon by scores of 25-20, 25-15, and 25-12 at Ewigleben Arena. The Cavaliers are now 3-7 overall on the season and 0-3 within the conference. The Bulldogs, who are receiving votes nationally, are now 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the GLIAC.
The first set was the best for the Cavaliers who battled the Bulldogs throughout the opening stanza. An attack error by Ferris State allowed for a tie midway at 9-9 and again at 11-11. Walsh remained in the set and trailed by two at 21-19 after a kill by Justine Coffman from Olivia Zanolli, but Ferris State was able to close out with five of the next six points.
The Bulldogs built upon the momentum and took early leads in the next two sets en route to the match win.
Coffman led the team with six kills. Zanolli assisted on 18 kills. Madison Music and Amanda Adoranti each had 10 digs.
The Cavs are back in action tomorrow afternoon at Grand Valley State. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
