Volleyball Sweeps Battlers For Third-Straight Win

Box Score

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – A sweep of Alderson Broaddus by scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-20 gave Walsh its third-straight win at the Cechinni Center on Friday evening. The Cavaliers improved to 18-9 overall and 11-4 in the G-MAC, while the Battlers dropped to 7-21 and 1-14.

It took some effort to win the opening set, but once that was behind them, the second and third came easier for the Cavaliers. However, AB saw itself up 22-20 in the opening set before three Battler errors, an Amanda Adoranti ace, and a Paola Ferrario kill gave the Cavs the win.

The Cavs never trailed in the second after opening the set with three consecutive points. The third played a bit closer, but Walsh closed the match with seven of the last eight points to secure the win.

Ferrario continued her spike-filled week with 15 kills on the evening. Combined with yesterday's match she now has 41 for the week with one match to play. She was the only player for either team in double figures. Tonight she had 28 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .393.

Julianna Kruse took over the setting duties for the night and promptly assisted the offense 36 times. On the defensive end, Ferrario and Amanda Adoranti each tallied 11 digs to lead the team.

The Cavs will look to close out the home season tomorrow with Senior Day against Davis & Elkins. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
