Women's Basketball Falls at Findlay

(FINDLAY, Ohio) – Walsh had its four-game win streak snapped at the hands of Findlay by a score of 73-60 at Croy Gymnasium on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers moved to 5-4 overall on the season and 2-1 in the conference, while the Oilers improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the G-MAC.

It was the Cavs that had the hot start which showed in an 8-0 lead to begin the first two minutes of the game thanks to 3-pointers by Dominique Foley and Alex Hochstedler followed by another Hochstedler layup. However, the Oilers then got its offense rolling and went on a 25-5 run to close out the opening period.

Walsh attempted to get back in the game, but every attempted was answered by the hot-shooting Oilers who shot 53.7 percent overall from the field.

Foley and Hochstedler led the Cavs' attack with 14 points each  Foley had one of her best nights from the floor as she went 5-of-8 overall and 2-for-3 behind the arc. Hochstedler also hit a pair of triples to go with five rebounds and four assists.

Findlay's starters led the charge as its bench was limited to just four points, but four of the five starters scored in double-digits with Lynsey Englebrecht leading the way with 19 points.

The Cavs will attempt to get back on track in the win column with another road contest on Saturday where they will take on the Chargers at 1 p.m.
