(FINDLAY, Ohio) – Walsh found itself on the bottom end of a high-scoring affair with Findlay by the score of 96-87 at Croy Gymnasium on Thursday evening. Both teams shot exceptionally well with the Cavaliers (5-2, 2-1) shooting 50 percent, but the Oilers (8-2, 3-0) made 58.2 percent in return.

Both teams battled back-and-forth for most of the first half with neither team taking a lead of more than two possessions until the 6:39 mark when Findlay made it 43-35 on a basket by Taren Sullivan. The Cavs answered and eventually cut the deficit back down to five points after Darryl Straughter's 3-pointer made it 47-42, but Findlay was able to push the lead into double-digits by the end of the half and went into the locker room up 59-47.

Walsh was able to get back within eight after Branden Wilkins scored on a layup to make the score 72-64 with 9:59 to go in the game, but it was the closest the Cavs could get the rest of the way.

Bo Furcron scored a season-best 21-points on the night with six rebounds. Chandler Vaudrin and Conner Wess added 12 points each. Sterling Christy tallied 10 points and was two rebounds shy of a double-double.

Straughter provided a spark off the bench with 16 points and was 6-of-9 from the field. The bulk of that came from outside where he was 4-of-5 behind the arc.

Findlay's offense went through Sullivan who led all scorers with 31 points.

The Cavs will remain on the road and head up to Hillsdale on Saturday to take on the Chargers. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
