(ERIE, Pa.) – In its last match of March, the Walsh women's tennis team fell to hosting Edinboro by a score of 7-2 at the Westwood Racquet Club on Wednesday afternoon. The Cavaliers fell to 6-14 overall on the season, while the Fighting Scots improved to 6-2.
The Cavaliers scored one point at third doubles as Daria Bondareva and Snezhana Kiseleva defeated Anastasiya Dasik and Jelena Vucenovic 8-4. Bondareva ended up unbeaten on the day as she took down Julia Hellstern 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles for the other point.
Walsh was close to scoring a couple of more points, but fell in tightly contested matches at first doubles 8-6 and first singles 7-6 (10-6), 7-6 (10-5).
The Maroon and Gold will play in its penultimate match of the season against future conference rival Davis & Elkins on Tuesday, April 4.
