(OWENSBORO, Ky.) – Walsh continued its hot start to the season with a three-set win over Kentucky Wesleyan by scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-20. The Cavaliers improve to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the G-MAC. The Panthers dropped even at 5-5 on the year and 1-1 in the conference.

The two teams played even for a majority of the first set until the Cavaliers closed the game out with the final eight points. A kill by Justine Coffman sparked the rally before five consecutive errors gave Walsh control of the game. Erica Schiets closed out the set with a pair of aces.

Walsh carried the momentum into the second set and jumped out to an early 4-1 lead en route to the identical win. The third set played closer as Kentucky Wesleyan saw its largest lead of the day at 12-8, but the Cavs rallied with seven of the next eight points to take a 15-13 lead. They didn't trail again.

Paola Ferrario led the attack with 12 kills on 29 attempts. Lauren Loucks backed her up with 10 kills. Olivia Zanolli set them up and totaled 29 assists on the night.

Defensively Coffman blocked four attacks while Amanda Adoranti dug up 18 balls. Ferrario added 12 digs and Zanolli tallied 11.

The Cavs continue its road stretch of six consecutive matches tomorrow at Trevecca Nazarene. The match in Music City is set to start at 2 p.m.
