(JACKSONVILLE) – A late comeback attempt wasn't enough as Walsh fell to Division I Jacksonville 56-31 in the Sunshine State Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (0-3) scored 28 points in the second half, but wasn't able to stop the Dolphins (1-1) who scored three touchdowns of their own.

Jacksonville opened the game with a touchdown drive and a quick lead, but Walsh answered with a scoring drive of its own that went 14 plays and 63 yards capped by a 44-yard field goal by Kasey Tingler to make the score 7-3 with 5:37 left to go in the first quarter.

From there Walsh was kept off the scoreboard until the second half while the Dolphins scored four unanswered touchdowns.

The Cavaliers finally got back on the board in the third quarter when Mitchell Ault and Kalvin Gordon connected on a 76-yard touchdown pass. Ault wasn't done as he finished off the Cavaliers' next two drives with a two-yard touchdown run and a 17-yard scoring strike caught by DeVon Harris.

Deondre Cook provided the last score with a 6-yard touchdown run with 35 seconds remaining in regulation.

Ault finished the day completing 20-of-26 passes for a pair of touchdowns and 12 yards rushing with another score on the ground. Harris was his favorite target as he caught seven passes for 58 yards and a long of 18 yards.

The Walsh offense totaled 357 yards, but were outgained by the Dolphins who went for 489 yards. The 31 points is the most that the Cavs have scored since 39 during the 2015 season.

The Cavaliers will head northeast next week to take on their second-straight Division I opponent as they take on Central Connecticut State. Kickoff from New Britain is currently set at 12 p.m.
