(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The scoreless streak may have ended early on for Walsh, but the undefeated streak remained intact as it defeated visiting Trevecca Nazarene University 3-2 in a battle of unbeaten G-MAC teams. The Cavaliers improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference, while the Trojans fell to 3-1-2 overall and 1-1-2 in the G-MAC.

Trevecca drew first blood with a goal just six minutes in when Mackenzie Nadeau headed a ball in off a corner kick. It would be a sign of things to come as three goals in the game ended up being scored on corners.

The next one was not, however, as Olivia Peters slipped a pass through the defense and found Brianna Sanborn on a breakaway. Sanborn was able to beat the goalie near the baseline and send it to the left side of the net for the equalizer at 20:56.

The game didn't stay tied long as Lexie Hayes scored on a corner kick for Trevecca less than two minutes leter.

The score remained 2-1 through the half until Sanborn scored her second goal on another corner just a minute into the second half. She then assisted Alisha Himes on the go-ahead winner in the 58th minute.

Trevecca didn't go away quietly though, and had an excellent chance to tie the game with a penalty kick in the 75th minute. The Trojans Gabriela Dias shot to the upper left 90, but G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week Mickey McClanahan made an incredible save to preserve the win. She ended up with five saves on the day on eight shots faced.

The Cavaliers will look to remain unbeaten as they host Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday at 1 p.m.
