(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh got back into the win column as it torched Lake Erie 86-58 in Alumni Arena on a snowy Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (9-7, 6-4) had their second-best shooting percentage of the year as they made 52.5 percent of their shots against the Storm (7-8, 4-6).

Mayci Sales had a breakout game in doing so as the freshman scored a season-best 20 points. She was 8-of-11 from the field and was a rebound shy of her second double-double of the season. Jamie Halloran also provided a spark off the bench with 11 points. She was 4-of-6 from the field and 3-of-5 from behind the arc.

The offense did well in passing the ball as Walsh made assists on 25 of its 31 makes for a new season-best. Tyler Newkirk came off the bench to lead that department with five.

Of course it wasn't all offense for the Cavs, who scored the second-most points in a game this season. The defense stepped up as well and limited the G-MAC's leading scorer Kayla Gabor to just 10 points, 11 fewer than her season average.

The Cavs also stole the ball on 20 of the Storm's turnovers and blocked five shots on the day. Holly Grober provided three of the swats. She added eight points and four rebounds on the day.

The Cavaliers now start a stretch of four games on the road. The first won't take too far to get to though as Walsh takes on rival Malone a week from today. Tip-off with the Pioneers is set for 3 p.m.
