Box Score

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - Despite rainy conditions, Walsh took care of business in the G-MAC quarterfinals as they defeated Cedarville 2-1. The win advances the Cavaliers to the seminfinals where they will take on either No. 2 Trevecca or No. 7 Davis & Elkins on Thursday, Nov. 1.

The first half proved challenging for both the Cavaliers and Yellow Jackets, as neither team was able to connect for a goal. However, early in the second half Alisha Himes gave the Cavs some momentum with the first goal of the game, off an assist from Brianna Sanborn.

Cedarville answered at the 62 minute mark with a goal by Olivia Hoffman. But Himes answered again to secure the win by a penalty shot at the 70 minute mark.

The Walsh defense held up strong as Cedarville only had three shots on goal throughout the evening compared to Walsh's 10. Goalkeeper Mickey McClanahan records another win with two saves on the night.
