(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - The Walsh University Men's Basketball team came out on top in overtime in their conference home opener against Ohio Dominican 77-69. 

Leading the way for the Cavaliers was freshman forward JT Shumate with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Darryl Straughter contributed 20 points, 3 rebounds and was 14 of 15 from the free throw line. Sterling Christy added 17 points for the Cavs and 7 rebounds. Caleb Canter had a dominating performance on the boards with 13 total rebounds for the Maroon and Gold.  The Cavs scored 8 points from the free throw line in overtime to help secure their first conference victory of the season.

Sam Hickey led the Panthers with 25 points and 7 rebounds.

The Cavaliers lace back up Saturday at 3:00 PM against Ohio Valley at home.
