(CANTON, Ohio) - The Walsh Cavaliers opened their season earlier tonight at Malone University in the GLIAC/G-MAC Crossover Tournament. Walsh defeated GLIAC opponent Lake Superior State 95-58. The Cavaliers went up 25-13 in the first quarter and never looked back. 

Junior Jamie Halloran led the charge with 19 points on 5-10 shooting from the 3-point line. Sophomore Mayci Sales followed with 14 points and led the team in rebounds with six. Freshman Quinoche Carter contributed 13 points on 5-6 shooting. Rounding out the double digit scoring was Jill Blacksten and Shelby Henkel with 11 points a piece. 

The Cavs defense stifled the Lakers as they had an impressive 11 blocks. Blacksten, Sales, and freshman Lexie Scarton each had two blocks. 

Rebecca Villanueva led the way for Lake Superior with 12 points. Claire Radtke followed with eight. 

The Cavs return to action tomorrow at Walsh when they take on Wisconsin-Parkside at 5 p.m.
