Cavs' Tournament Run Ends With Rubber Match Loss To Findlay

(CEDARVILLE, Ohio) – No. 2 Walsh's chase for a G-MAC championship ended at the hands of No. 3 Findlay in the conference semifinals by a score of 70-59 this evening. The Cavaliers fell to 21-9 while the Oilers improved to 22-6 and the G-MAC Tournament championship against either No. 1 Cedarville or No. 5 Hillsdale.

The Cavaliers went down early after a high-powered Oilers offense that scored 100 points the previous day jumped out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter. Walsh was able to double its efforts in the second quarter, but Findlay still extended its lead and had a 39-24 advantage at the half.

Walsh's offense eventually started to click late with a 22-point fourth quarter, but ran out of time as Findlay held the Cavs at bay.

G-MAC Freshman of the Year Mayci Sales led the Cavaliers with 12 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double. Jill Blacksten joined her in double-figures with 11 points off the bench. She was 4-of-8 from the field and added six rebounds to her line. Holly Grober dropped in 10 on 5-of-9 from the field as well.

The two-headed monster of Anna Hintz and Haley Horstman led Oilers attack with 20 and 19 points, respectively. Hintz went 8-of-11 from the field and grabbed a season-best 16 rebounds.
