(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – It was a perfect weekend for the Walsh volleyball team as it went through Kentucky Wesleyan without dropping a game for the second consecutive match. The Cavaliers (9-7, 6-2) took the straight sets from the Panthers (9-8, 4-5) by scores of 25-13, 25-16, and 25-17.

An early 10 a.m. start was no bother to the Cavaliers either as they started the day by scoring the first five points en route to one of their biggest wins in any game this year. Walsh didn't allow Kentucky Wesleyan to score consecutive points until the game was out of reach at 20-8.

Set two was close in the beginning, but Walsh started to create some separation after KWC came within one at 13-12 after a kill. The Maroon and Gold then proceeded to reel off 12 of the next 15 points with half of them coming on kills to take the 2-0 lead.

Another fast start in game three helped Walsh to an early lead, but the Panthers were able to roar back and go up 8-7 before the Cavs reclaimed the lead for good with a 5-0 run. Walsh eventually closed the match with another 5-0 run on an ace sandwiched between two pairs of kills.

Lauren Loucks powered the offense once again with a dominating 17 kills and an impressive attack rate of 53.6 percent. Justine Coffman followed with 11 kills and an even better kill percentage of 66.7. Olivia Zanolli provided the sets with 38 assists.

Defensively Amanda Adoranti dug up 12 balls. Amber King led a block party with five.

Walsh will be on a split week next week with two matches, but on Tuesday and Friday. Findlay will come to town first for a 7 p.m. start on Tuesday, while the Cavs will host their rivals to the south with Malone on Friday.
