(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – In a matchup between two of the top teams in the G-MAC, Walsh fell to Findlay in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-22, and 25-20 Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers fell to 9-8 overall and 6-3 in the conference, while the Oilers improved to 12-2 overall and 7-1 in the league.

After a dominating first set, the Oilers appeared to have all the momentum, but the Maroon and Gold came back and started firing on all cylinders in the second. Walsh jumped out in front and maintained a four-point lead for most of the game with its final such lead coming at 20-16. However the Oilers were able to score nine of the next 11 points to pull off the comeback.

The final set saw the teams match up point-for-point until the score was 14-14 before Findlay started to pull away. The Cavs attempted a comeback of their own, but could only cut the deficit to 22-18 after a Lauren Loucks kill and an Oiler error.

For the first time this season in a Walsh match, neither team was able to place a player in double-figures in kills. Loucks paced the Cavalier attack with nine while Amanda Winner and Molly Hammersmith equaled her to lead the Oilers. Olivia Zanolli totaled 27 assists, while Amanda Adoranti dug up 18 Findlay attacks.

Walsh must now prep for its arch-rival Malone in a battle between the two top teams in the East Division. With the Pioneers' five-set win over Lake Erie today, first place positioning will be up for grabs when the two meet Friday. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
