(PEPPER PIKE, Ohio) – Walsh needed five sets, but it eventually handed the 3-2 defeat to Ursuline to win its fourth consecutive match and second-straight G-MAC contest. The Cavaliers (5-5, 2-0) dropped the first set to the Arrows (4-4, 1-2) 25-21, but rebounded to take the next pair by scores of 25-16 and 25-21. Ursuline won set four 25-17, but the Maroon and Gold cruised to through the fifth 15-5.

Lauren Loucks continued her domination in the early season with 20 kills and was just shy of the .400-mark. Three came in the all-important fifth set in which Walsh dominated from the get-go as the Cavs jumped out to a 6-1 lead. After the teams switched ends, Loucks provided two kills including the match-sealing 15th point.

Paola Ferrario and Justine Coffman joined her in double-figures with 14 and 12 kills, respectively.  On the defensive end, Ferrario added 10 digs for the double-double.

Olivia Zanolli tallied a season-best 56 assists, just one shy of her career-best 57 against Ohio Dominican at home two years ago. She was also impressive on the defensive end with 14 digs. Amanda Adoranti led the match in that department with 21.

 Walsh also dominated by the net as the team combined for 10 blocks. Coffman led the charge with five (one solo, four assists). Loucks added four (one solo, three assists).

The Cavs will head north once again tomorrow when they square off against Lake Erie. The two teams were picked to finish 1-2 in the East Division of the G-MAC. First serve is set for 1 p.m. in Painesville.
