Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers women's soccer got their fourth shutout of the year on Thursday (Oct. 3) as they defeated the Ursuline College Arrows 2-0 at Milazzo Field.
The first half featured a battle of finesse as both teams combined for nine shots on goal. Walsh outshot Ursuline 5-4 in the first 45 minutes as the game was knotted at zero.
Krista Prasek gave the Cavaliers a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute on a header off an assist by Maddie Malinowski. In the 65th minute, Hannah Bowman scored an insurance goal, assisted by Olivia Peters as Walsh pushed the lead to 2-0.
The Cavaliers won the second half shot advantage, taking ten shots, compared to nine for the Arrows. The final shot differential was 15-13 in favor of the Cavaliers.
Mickey McClanahan faced four shots on goal and made saves on all of them.
Walsh welcomes the Storm of Lake Erie to North Canton for a G-MAC matchup on Saturday (Oct. 5) night at 7:30 PM. Saturday's matchup is Taylor Ceepo Memorial Night as proceeds from the t-shirt sales, Swenson's food truck and raffles will go to the Taylor Paige Ceepo Memorial Fund.
