Sanborn's Overtime Goal Sends Cavs to G-MAC Final

DAYTON, Ohio - The Walsh University women's soccer team competed in the G-MAC semifinals on Thursday afternoon (Nov. 14) against Cedarville. The Cavaliers entered the contest as the number two seed, while the Yellow Jackets of Cedarville entered the contest as the number three seed. 

Olivia Peters scored the first goal of the day in the 45th minute of action off an assist from Alisha Himes.

Cedarville's Olivia Hoffman answered with a goal in the 65th minute. Neither team was able to connect for another goal in regulation, as the match was forced into overtime. 

In the 94th minute of play, Brianna Sanborn scored the winning goal of the match off a corner kick from Peters, sending Walsh to the G-MAC championship.

The Cavaliers will play on Saturday (Nov. 16) at Roger Glass Stadium in Dayton at noon against the number four seed Ohio Dominican for the conference title.
