COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Walsh University women's basketball team headed to Ohio Dominican to take on the Panthers earlier this afternoon (Dec 16) at Alumni Hall. The 88-72 victory lifts the Cavs to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in G-MAC play. 

Ohio Dominican was able to hang with the Cavaliers through the first quarter and part of the second, but Quionche Carter's 10 points in the second quarter alone put Walsh up 46-36 by halftime. Carter would finish with 20 points on the day. 

Tyler Newkirk could not miss as she went five-for-five from deep en route to a career-best 25 points. Mayci Sales played a complete game as she chipped in 16 points, grabbed a team-best eight rebounds, and dished out a team-high six assists. Megan Ball was the final Cavalier to reach double figures with 10 points. Ball also had seven rebounds and four assists.

Alexa Fisher led the charge for the Panthers with 21 points.

Next up for the Cavaliers is a non-conference matchup with West Liberty on Wednesday (Dec. 18) at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Tip-off is at 1:30 pm.
