Women's Basketball Defeats Fighting Scots, 79-72

EDINBORO, Penn. - The Walsh University women's basketball team traveled to Edinboro to take on the Fighting Scots in a Tuesday (Dec. 3) evening non-conference match-up. The game went back and forth as there were 21 lead changes and neither team led by more than eight throughout the contest. Ultimately, the Cavaliers defeated the Fighting Scots, 79-72. 

Four Cavaliers reached double-figures, led by Tyler Newkirk's 17-point performance. Newkirk played an all-around solid game as she also contributed eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Mayci Sales was a force inside as she put up a 16 point and 10 rebound double-double. Sales also dished out five assists. Kimmie Borck connected for five three-pointers en route to 15 points. Quionche Carter was the final Cavalier to reach double-figures with 11 on the night.

Michaela Barnes led the Fighting Scot's offense, pouring in 31 points. 

Walsh will kick-off conference play at home this Saturday (Dec. 7) against Lake Erie at 1:00 pm.
