NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers women's basketball team opened the Great Midwest Athletic Conference schedule with the Lake Erie College Storm on Saturday (Dec. 7) at Alumni Arena. 

Walsh won their second straight game, an 84-55 victory over the Storm as the Cavaliers led wire-to-wire in the game. 

After the first 90 seconds were scoreless, Walsh took the lead and never looked back over the next 38 and a half minutes. Walsh led by ten points after the first quarter and pushed the lead to 14 in the second quarter with the help of an 8-0 run. The Cavaliers led 36-26 at halftime. A 10-1 run in the third quarter opened a 15 point lead for the home squad before the lead was 11 after three periods. Walsh outscored Lake Erie 29-11 in the fourth quarter while shooting 68% from the floor, all leading to the largest lead of 32 in the game. 

Four players scored in double figures for the Cavaliers, including three of the starters. Quionche Carter made eight shots with four free throws for a total of 20 points. Carter added five rebounds and four steals. Kimmie Borck set a season-high with 16 points on seven made shots (one three pointer) and one free throw. She picked up a team-high six rebounds and led the team with five assists. Mayci Sales ended the game with 12 points, four rebounds and four steals. Alyssa Dean came off the bench with 11 points, four rebounds and four assists. 

The Cavaliers finished with 51.5% (35-68) shooting from the floor in the contest. They scored 60 points in the paint and turned 20 turnovers into 25 points. 

Walsh will prepare for Tiffin on the road next Saturday (Dec. 14) at 1:00 PM.
